Société anonyme créée en 1980 par Jean Ichbiah "le père du langage Ada" sous le nom d'Alsys.

En novembre 1991, elle devient TSP, filiale de Thomson-CSF (Aujourd’hui Thales). Premier fournisseur européen (et deuxième mondial) de logiciels Ada. Se spécialisant dans le monde du logiciel embarqué, Aonix produisit aussi TeleUSE, gamme complète de générateurs IHM sous Motif.

Aonix est né en novembre 1996[1] de la fusion de deux sociétés fournissant des outils de développement : Interactive Development Environments Inc. (IDE) et Thomson Software Products (TSP)[2].

En 2003, Aonix élargi son offre par l'acquisition de la plate-forme Java temps-réel PERC de NewMonics[3] et s'implique dans la Safety Critical Java Specification Initiative (RTSJ) et nottement dans le JSR302[4].

Aonix est présent dans le monde entier. La société est implantée en Europe, à Paris et Toulouse[5] en France, à Karlsruhe en Allemagne, à San Diego Californie et Tucson Arizona aux États-Unis et à Henley au Royaume-Uni.
