Meena Keshwar Kamal, poétesse féministe afghane (née le 27 février 1956 à Kaboul - assassinée le 4 février 1987 à Quetta, Pakistan, par les agents afghans du KGB), a fondé l'association Revolutionary Association of the Women of Afghanistan (RAWA) à Kaboul (Afghanistan) en 1977 : RAWA est une organisation de femmes afghanes luttant pour les droits de l'homme et la justice sociale en Afghanistan et pour donner la parole aux femmes afghanes réduites au silence dans leur pays.

Meena Keshwar Kamal a quitté l'université pour se consacrer à l'organisation et l'éducation des femmes, elle a fondé et dirigé la fondation de RAWA.
Elle est une femme afghane féministe comme Soraya Tarzi et Malalai Joya.
Payam-e-Zan
En 1981, Meena Keshwar Kamal a lancé un magazine bilingue, Payam-e-Zan (Message de femmes) qui mettait en avant la cause des femmes afghanes et dénonçait sans relâche la nature criminelle des groupes fondamentalistes.
Ecoles Watan
Meena Keshwar Kamal a également créé des écoles Watan pour les enfants réfugiés, un hôpital et des centres de confection artisanale pour les femmes réfugiées au Pakistan.
Meena Keshwar Kamal fin 1981 au Congrès du Parti Socialiste
Fin 1981, sur invitation du gouvernement en France, Meena Keshwar Kamal représenta le mouvement résistant afghan au Congrès du Parti Socialiste.
