Malalai Joya lors d'un discours en Australie.
Malalai Joya, née le 25 avril 1978 est une femme politique afghane, députée, féministe, socialiste, élue en 2005 la plus jeune députée au parlement afghan où elle représente sa ville natale de Farâh, située dans l'une des provinces les plus pauvres d’Afghanistan. Elle est la fille adoptive d'Eve Ensler, auteure des Monologues du Vagin et féministe engagée notamment dans l'association mondiale V-DAY pour éradiquer les violences faites aux femmes.
Politique
En visite dans une école pour filles à Farah.
Elle dirige le groupe non gouvernemental Organization of Promoting Afghan Women’s Capabilities (OPAWC) qui agit dans les provinces occidentales d’Afghanistan : aide à la santé, à l’éducation et à la formation professionnelle en vue de gagner autonomie économique.
