Love on the Beat est un album de Serge Gainsbourg sorti en 1984. Il s'agit de son seizième album studio.
Sur cet album, Gainsbourg s'essaie à la musique électronique et aux synthétiseurs qui étaient populaires dans les années 80. L'album fut controversé pour ses paroles au contenu hautement sexuel, et plus particulièrement Lemon Incest (Inceste de citron) chanté en duo avec sa fille Charlotte, alors âgée de 12 ans.
Le disque comprend également de nombreuses allusions à l'homosexualité ; ainsi, le titre I'm The Boy fait référence au « Back Room » homosexuel de l'époque, tandis que Kiss Me Hardy évoque le même sujet en reprenant les prétendues dernières paroles de l'Amiral Nelson à son aide de camp, Hardy. Gainsbourg, grand provocateur évoquera tout au long de la promotion de ce disque ses expériences gay. Il reniera cependant ses propos quelques années plus tard en déclarant que « c'était pour balancer ».
Dans cet album, on entend aussi Harley David (Son of a Bitch), dont le titre fait penser à celui de Harley Davidson, qu'il a écrit en 1968 pour Brigitte Bardot.
