Le kitanemuk est une langue uto-aztèque de la branche des langues takiques parlée aux États-Unis, dans le sud de la Californie, dans la région de Tejon Pass et des monts Tehachapi.

Les derniers locuteurs sont disparus dans les années 1940[1]. La langue est éteinte.

Morphologie

Le nom

Caractéristique des langues takiques, le nom, sans affixes, apparaît sous une forme absolue, marquée par le suffixe absolutif /-t/.

  • konakat - collier

Ce suffixe disparaît quand le mot prend un affixe.
