Lobsang Tenzin Jigme Yeshi Gyantso plus connu sous le nom de Kirti Rinpoché est né en 1941 dans l’Amdo, région Est du Tibet. Il a été reconnu comme le 11e dans la lignée des Kirti Rinpochés, abbé du monastère de Kirti à Taktsang Lhamo, Amdo. Il a fuit le Tibet fin en 1959, lors de l'exode tibétain de 1959. Il a reconstruit en Inde son monastère détruit au Tibet. Il fondé un monastère de Kirti à Dharamsala, en Inde, en avril 1990. En 2008, il comptait 201 moines, tous récemment arrivés du Tibet[1].
