Joël (en hébreu : יואל - "Jéhovah est Dieu") (yoel en hébreu ; yo abréviation de yahvé et "el", qui signifie est Dieu) est l'un des douze personnages bibliques appelés "petits prophètes". Il est l'auteur du livre de Joël qui fait partie du Tanakh de la tradition juive et de l'Ancien Testament chrétien.
D'après le récit biblique, Joël réside au sein de la tribu de Juda (à laquelle on peut supposer qu'il appartenait). Il avertit le peuple de terribles plaies et l'amène ainsi à se repentir.
