John Thomas Dunlop (5 juillet 1914 - 2 octobre 2003) était un administrateur du gouvernement américain et un spécialiste du travail. Il fut Secrétaire au Travail entre 1975 et 1976. Il fut également Director of the U.S. Cost of Living Council en 1973-1974, Chairman of the U.S.Commission on the Future of Worker/Management Relations en 1993-1995. Il obtint son doctorat à l'Université de Californie (Berkeley) en 1939. Il enseigna à Harvard à partir de 1938 puis à l'université Lamont en 1984. Alors qu'il était à Harvard, il fut responsable du Département d'Economie (1961-1966) et doyen de la faculté des Arts et des Sciences (1969-1973).
