Modèle à moteur caoutchouc (1871)
Alphonse Pénaud (1850–1880) est un pionnier français de l'aviation, inventeur du modèle d'avion Planaphore propulsé par un moteur à anneau de caoutchouc.
Il construisit des modèles d'ornithoptères et des modèles à hélice. Avec Paul Gauchot, il conçut un hydravion muni d'un train d'atterrissage rétractable. Il se suicida en 1880.
