Isabel Briggs Myers est née le 18 octobre 1897 et est décédée le 5 mai 1980[1] [2]) .
Elle fut une théoricienne américaine en psychologie et co-créatrice avec sa mère, du Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI). En 1918, Isabel Briggs s'est marié avec Clarence Myers.
Elle a étudié avec sa mère, Katharine Cook Briggs (née le 3 janvier 1875[3], décédée en 1968).
Isabel Briggs Myers a obtenu un "bachelor" en sciences politiques au Swarthmore College.
Sa mère était une lectrice assidue des ouvrages de Carl Gustav Jung mais aussi portait un grand intérêt au Type psychologique et c'est avec sa mère que celle-ci mirent au point ce que l'on nomme, aujourd'hui, le MBTI.
Plus tard, elle entra en collaboration avec Mary McCaulley, et poursuivi avec elle, des expérimentations liées à la méthodes mais aussi des recherches pour approfondir les connaissance du MBTI .
