Johnny Storm alias La Torche humaine est un personnage de comics appartenant à l'univers de Marvel Comics. Il a été créé par Stan Lee et Jack Kirby, dans The Fantastic Four #1 (Novembre 1961).

Membre fondateur des Quatre Fantastiques, il possède comme les autres membres du groupe des super-pouvoirs. Il peut à volonté et en présence d'oxygène créer une enveloppe de feu autour de n'importe quelle partie de son corps et voler. Il peut projeter des boules de feu et en ultime recours générer une explosion dégageant l'énergie d'une nova.

Biographie

Johnny porte bien son pseudonyme de torche humaine car c'est une véritable tête brulée même si les années aidant, il a acquis un peu de maturité. Marié un temps avec la skrull Lyja (voir (en) Lyja) qui avait pris l'apparence d'Alicia Masters ancienne petite amie de La Chose (Benjamin "Ben" Grimm). Lorsqu'il découvrit la supercherie bien que le couple soit très épris, il divorça car ne pouvait supporter cette "trahison".

Il a été héraut de Galactus pendant un court instant.

Au tout début du crossover Civil War, Johnny fut gravement blessé par une foule en colère après les évènements de Stamford.

À noter qu'il exista un premier Torche humaine, androïde créé en 1939.

Pouvoirs et capacités

La Torche humaine a acquis ses pouvoirs du fait de radiations cosmiques comme les autres membres des quatre Fantastiques.

Ses points faibles

Les adversaires de la Torche Humaine utilisent entre autres l'eau (évidemment), le froid, et le vide (ou l'absence d'oxygène).

Dans les années 70, ses adversaires utilisaient parfois aussi l'amiante pour lutter contre lui.
