ebookers est une agence de voyages en ligne présente dans 12 pays européens : Allemagne, Autriche, Belgique, Danemark, France, Finlande, Irlande, Pays-Bas, Royaume-Uni, Norvège, Suède et Suisse[1].


Historique

  • 1983 : fondation sous le nom Flightbookers par Dinesh Dhamija
  • 1996 : lancement d'un site internet de réservation de voyages
  • 1998 : Flightbookers devient ebookers
  • 1999 : lancement en France d'ebookers.fr, après le rachat de la Compagnie des Voyages, elle-même première agence à avoir proposé de la réservation aérienne en ligne en France, dès 1996[2].
  • 2000 : diversification des produits. ebookers propose une offre de vols, hôtels, week-ends, locations de voiture et séjours.
  • 2004 : rachat par Cendant[3] et rejoint la division "Travel Distribution" du groupe.
  • 2006 : la division "Travel Distribution" devient une société à part entière baptisée Travelport[4]. Travelport appartient actuellement au groupe Blackstone[5] et possède notamment les marques Orbitz, Galileo et HotelClub.
  • 2009 : réorganisation des opérations en passant d’une structure par pays à une structure par régions.
