Dino Ciani est un pianiste italien, né le 16 juin 1941 à Fiume (aujourd'hui en Croatie), et mort le 28 mars 1974.
Après avoir étudié au Conservatoire de Rome, il s'est perfectionné auprès d'Alfred Cortot. L'illustre maître semble avoir eu pour lui une grande considération.
En 1961, Dino Ciani a obtenu le 2e prix du Concours Liszt-Bartók à Budapest. Ami de Florence Delaage, il a par la suite enregistré les Préludes de Debussy pour Deutsche Grammophon. Mais sa discographie permet également de l'écouter jouant Haydn, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann ou Brahms.
Un accident de la route a prématurément mis fin à une carrière qui s'annonçait comme l'une des plus brillantes du circuit musical international. Le nom de Dino Ciani n'en reste pas moins attaché à des interprétations qui font partie du patrimoine pianistique du XXe siècle.
