Devin the Dude alias Devin Copeland est un rappeur américain né à St. Petersburg en Floride le 4 juin 1970, mais il grandit à Houston au Texas.

Biographie

Devin Copeland a commencé sa carrière avec la Odd Squad, un groupe de rappeurs signé sous le label Rap-A-Lot Records. À partir de 1998, il entreprend sa carrière solo en lançant le disque The Dude. Au total, il a lancé 5 CD solos : The Dude (1998), Just Tryin' ta Live (2002), To tha X-Treme (2004), Waitin' to Inhale (2007), et Landing Gear (2008).

Il se démarque par son style assez nonchalant et sa voix nasillarde.

Devin the Dude a fait partie de la méga-tournée hip-hop de Dr.Dre pour son CD Chronics 2001, The Up in Smoke Tour qui s'est déroulée entre juin et août 2000.

En 2005, le New York Times a écrit que son album To Tha X-Treme était brillant^[1].

Nombre de ses sons sont très reconnus dans le monde du Hip-Hop tels que "Right Now", "Doobie Ashtray" et "To Tha X-Trem".
