Carl Johnson, pseudonyme CJ, est un personnage de jeu vidéo de la série Grand Theft Auto. C'est le héros incarné par le joueur dans Grand Theft Auto : San Andreas édité en 2005 sur Playstation 2, XBox et PC.
Natif de Los Santos, Carl est un jeune afro-américain qui passe son enfance au quartier de Grove Street avec sa mère Beverly, ses frères Sweet de son vrai nom Sean(Comme cité dans le manuel du jeu), Brian et sa soeur Kendl. La misère, la violence et la drogue le poussent à partir pour Liberty City dans l'espoir d'un avenir meilleur. Il revient cependant en 1992, après avoir appris le meurtre de sa mère. CJ retrouve son passé, ses ennemis, sa famille et son ancien gang, le « Grove Street Families ou Orange Grove Families ».
Le jeu propose de suivre la vie de Carl à cette période, cherchant la trace du meurtrier de sa mère et oeuvrant à durcir sa réputation, en tentant de redonner à sa bande sa gloire d'antan. Dangereux gangster, expert en maniement d'armes et dépourvu de toute conscience politique, CJ est un « homme de mains » efficace et radical mais qui semble un peu naïf.
Pas totalement dépourvu de valeurs morales, Carl se bat pour sa famille, ses amis et pour l'éradication des drogues dures.
Carl Johnson est doublé par Young Maylay.
