Thomas Blaikie (né en 1758 - décédé en 1838) est un jardinier originaire d'Écosse (Corstorphine, près d'Édimbourg), parti à l'étranger en 1775, à la recherche de plantes alpines en Suisse. Il arpente le Jura, et visite entre autres le village des Plans-sur-Bex.
Plus tard, il s'installe à Paris et dessina les jardins de Malmaison et Bagatelle, le Parc du Château du Raincy et le jardin d'hiver pour le duc de Chartres à Monceau.
Son journal intime intitulé Un Jardinier Écossais à la Cour de France datant de la fin du XVIIIe siècle a été publié en 1931 et a servi de base à Patricia Taylor, pour son livre intitulé : Thomas Blaikie (1751-1838) : Le "Capability" Brown of France (East Linton: Tuckwell, 2001).
