The Rebels of Tijuana est un groupe de Yéyé originaire de Lyon et installé à Genève. Influencé par la musique yéyé des années 60's (Jacques Dutronc, Nino Ferrer), et le Rock des Stones, The Rebels of Tijuana mélange diverses influences, du Rock psychédélique, en passant par le yéyé ou le Garage [1]

Biographie

The Rebels of Tijuana est un groupe originaire de Annemasse créé en 2008 par Alexis Kacimi (Fireball F.C, A*Song, The Monkberry Moon Orchestra) lors d'une projection du mythique Vanishing Point. Le groupe sort début 2009 un premier EP : "J'adore ce Flic" et signe sur le label Echo Orange.

Le groupe sort en 2010 son premier album, tout en anglais, "Where Did This Trip Go Wrong?" et partage la scène cette même année avec The Lords of Altamont et The Charlatans[1].

En 2010 le groupe est signé chez l'éditeur Alter-K [2], et apparait en l'illustration sonore dans plusieurs émission de télé réalité US.

Après un changement de line up, le groupe sort en 2011 "Un Foutu Hippie", EP 4 titres marquant le retour au Yéyé français. The Rebels of Tijuana ouvre cette même année pour The Urges et Hushpuppies au Echo Orange Festival [3] ou encore Lilly Wood and the Prick.

Le prochain album de The Rebels of Tijuana paraitra en mars 2012.
