Bert Berns
Bert Berns (de son vrai nom Bertrand Russell Berns) est un compositeur, arrangeur et producteur de rhythm and blues et de musique soul américain (8 septembre 1929 - 30 décembre 1967, New York).
Il a joué un rôle de premier plan dans la découverte de la musique soul par le public blanc. Sous les noms de Bert Berns ou de Bert Russell, il a travaillé pour The Isley Brothers, Solomon Burke, The Drifters, Ben E. King, Van Morrison, etc. Certaines de ses compositions comme Twist And Shout, If You Need Me ou Cry Baby furent reprises notamment par les Beatles, les Rolling Stones et Janis Joplin.
