Les neutrinos stériles sont un type de neutrinos hypothétiques qui interagissent uniquement via la gravitation à l'exception de toute autre interaction fondamentale du modèle standard. Il s'agit d'un neutrino droit (ou bien un antineutrino gauche) qui permet d'expliquer d'autres phénomènes, comme l'oscillation des neutrinos à laquelle il participerait, ou encore l'existence d'une grande différence de masses entre les neutrinos et les leptons chargés. Fin 2011, les neutrinos stériles ont été proposés pour expliquer l'anomalie des neutrinos de réacteur.[1] [2] [3]
