Mosab Hassan Yousef

Mosab Hassan Yousef (Arabe: مصعب حسن يوسف) est l'un des fils de Hassan Youssef, membre fondateur du Hamas en Cisjordanie. Il a publié en 2010 Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Choices qui raconte son histoire et dans lequel il affirme avoir été un espion du Shin Beth israélien. Il aurait travaillé pour leurs services de 1997 à 2007, date à laquelle il s'est converti au christianisme et est parti vivre en Californie.

D'après son récit[1], il aurait été arrêté par Tsahal en 1996, alors qu'il était étudiant à l'université de Bir Deit, près de Ramallah. En prison, il se serait insurgé contre les services de contre-renseignement du Hamas[1],[2],[3], et aurait décidé à sa libération de collaborer avec le Shin Beth[1]. Sous le surnom de « Prince vert », il affirme avoir permis l'arrestation de Ibrahim Hamid et Marwan Barghouti et aurait évité l'assassinat de Shimon Peres[1],[4].

Converti au christianisme, il vit en Californie depuis 2007 et publie Son of Hamas: A Gripping Account of Terror, Betrayal, Political Intrigue, and Unthinkable Choices (ISBN 1-4143-3307-2), écrit avec Ron Brackin. Le 1er mars 2010, en réaction à cette publication, son père annonce publiquement, en accord avec sa famille, avoir renié son fils à tout jamais[5].

Selon Gideon Ezra, ancien ministre israélien de l'Environnement et ancien chef adjoint du Shin Beth, les déclarations de Mosab Hassan sur ses agissements sont toutefois probablement exagérées[1].
