Kraal (également écrit craal ou kraul) est un mot afrikaans, néerlandais et anglais sud-africain désignant, en Afrique australe, un enclos pour le bétail ou autre animaux d'élevage, dans un hameau ou un village, entouré d'une palissade, d'un mur ou d'une haie, selon un plan circulaire.
En néerlandais, le mot kraal vient du portugais curral[1], similaire au mot espagnol corral, qui est passé en anglais.

Le mot "kraal" est aussi utilisé par les éclaireurs pour désigner une équipe de Scout Leaders dans un groupe. Le kraal est le lieu où sont prises les décisions importantes.
Kraal est aussi le nom d un groupe de metal des annees 90 de Lille, France.
