L'hyménophore de son nom vernaculaire en français, le chapeau du champignon est une partie du sporophore du champignon. C'est l'organe qui porte l'hyménium qui va produire les spores. Ce terme s'applique au chapeau du champignon. L'hyménophore, sa cuticule et l'hymenium forme le pileus.
Le pileus et le stipe forme le sporophore, anciennement nommé carpophore), soit le champignon tout entier.
