Come Clean

Come Clean est le troisième album du groupe de post-grunge américain Puddle of Mudd et le premier album qui connut un succès en dehors de Kansas City et qui fut publié avec le soutien d'un label mondialement organisé. L'album connut, dès sa sortie du 28 août 2001, un succès mondial grâce à ses singles Control, Blurry, Drift & Die et She Hates Me. Au Royaume-Uni et au Canada, l'album eut le statut de platinum et aux États-Unis le statut de triple platinum.

Le nouveau "Puddle of Mudd"

Après les deux premiers albums Stuck et Abrasive, l'ancien groupe se dissout. Quand Fred Durst, le chanteur de Limp Bizkit, qui avait reçu une démo par le chanteur de Puddle of Mudd, Wesley Reid Scantlin, sut que le groupe n'existait plus, il invita Wesley Reid Scantlin en Californie afin de former un nouveau groupe autour de lui, car il avait, selon Durst, le plus grand potentiel dans le groupe. Scantlin avait décidé d'accepter cette offre et rencontra le bassiste Douglas John Ardito et les deux prirent la décision de travailler ensemble. Ils se mirent donc à la recherche d'un guitariste et Fred Durst leur conseilla Paul Philipps, qui venait de la même ville que lui. Ils choisirent également un batteur, qui quitta le groupe assez vite. La batterie de l'album fut donc enregistré par Josh Freese, qui accepta d'aider le groupe pour les sessions d'enregistrement. Peu après, Greg Upchurch remplaça ce dernier et compléta enfin le personnel.
