Charles Cook

Charles Frédéric Cook est un pasteur protestant né le 31 mai 1787 et décédé le 21 février 1858 à Lausanne. Il introduisit le méthodisme en France au début du XIXe siècle.

Charkes Cook développa et organisa le méthodisme en France de 1818 jusqu’à sa mort en 1858. Il débuta son ministère en Normandie, puis, après un voyage dans la région de Nîmes, il élargit la présence méthodiste dans le sud de la France dans la région du Gard[1].

Charles Cook séjourna plusieurs fois en Suisse notamment à Lausanne où il participa à la création de la première communauté méthodiste en Suisse[2].
