Arthur Ransome

Arthur Michell Ransome, né le 18 janvier 1884 à Leeds et mort le 3 juin 1967, est un écrivain et journaliste anglais, surtout connu pour sa collection de livres Swallows and Amazons. Ces livres content les aventures des enfants qui passent leur vacances scolaires au Lake District et The Broads. En 1936, Ransome gagne le premier Carnegie Medal (un prix pour la littérature pour les enfants) et en 1953 il reçoit l'Ordre de l'Empire britannique.
