Vie personnelle
Adam avoue qu'il est un garçon timide et introverti comme il l'a écrit sur son blog[1]. Il souffre du syndrome d'Asperger ce qui serait une raison de cette timidité. Par ailleurs il souffre d'insomnie, ce qui l'amena plus jeune à composer dans le sous-sol de ses parents.

Projets musicaux
Young a également entamé de nombreux autres projets, comme Sky Sailing ou Port Blue, pour la plupart instrumentaux. La plupart ont occupés ses années d'études, et certains sont le fruit d'une collaboration avec des amis de l'université. Si certains ont leur propre profil Myspace, peu sont connus comparativement à Owl City. Seul Sky Sailing a gagné quelque renommée, notamment grâce à la publicité via la page Facebook officielle de Owl City.
