Les polyhydroxyalkanoates (ou PHA) sont des polyesters biosourcés et biodégradables produits par des bactéries à partir de la fermentation de sucres ou de lipides.
Ils peuvent adopter un comportement thermoplastique, ou bien élastomère, avec des températures de fusion comprises entre 40 et 180 °C.
