Gram (épée)
Gram, du norrois Gramr: "fâché", est le nom de l'épée ayant appartenu à Siegfried (Sigurd) dans la mythologie nordique, tuant notamment avec le dragon Fáfnir. Elle avait été forgée par Völund et avait d'abord appartenu au père de Siegfried, Siegmung, qui l'avait arrachée d'un tronc dans lequel Odin l'avait enfoncée et dont personne ne pouvait la tirer.
L'épée fut brisée contre Gungnir, la lance de Odin puis elle fut plus tard reforgée par Regin, pour vaincre le dragon Fáfnir.
Dans la mythologie germanique des Nibelungenlied, l'épée est nommée Balmung. Elle est devenue Notung (ou Nothung) dans L'Anneau du Nibelung de Richard Wagner.
Gram/Balmung apparaît dans de nombreuses œuvres de fiction, notamment dans des jeux vidéo : Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow (sous la forme de deux épées différentes), Valkyrie Profile, Ragnarok Online, la saga Soul Calibur (portée par Siegfried Stauffen), Baldur's Gate 2 (sous l'appellation "Gram de la douleur"), le manga Les Chevaliers du Zodiaque...
