Williams Lake[1] (Columetza en shuswap, la langue amérindienne locale) est une ville de la région Cariboo, située dans la province de Colombie-Britannique au Canada. Elle est le siège du district régional de Cariboo.
Sa population s'élevait à 10 744[2] habitants au recensement de 2006, soit une baisse de 3,7% depuis celui de 2001.
Williams Lake est notamment renommée pour son rodéo, le Williams Lake Stampede[3] qui se déroule chaque année durant un « grand » week-end, fin juin ou début juillet, depuis 1919 (avec une interruption entre 1939 et 1947).
Situation
La ville est située à l'ouest d'un petit lac (d'environ cinq kilomètres de long), le lac Williams (Williams Lake), au croisement des autoroutes provinciales 20 et 97 (cette portion de la 97 est également appelée Cariboo Highway).
