V8 Supercars Australia

Le V8 Supercars est un championnat automobile qui met aux prises des voitures de type "tourisme". Il s'agit de la discipline reine du sport automobile australien. Le championnat se déroule sur des circuits comme Adélaïde, Phillip Island, mais également à Sakhir, le circuit de Bahreïn, signe de la volonté d'internationalisation des organisateurs. Seules deux marques s'opposent dans ce championnat: Ford (avec le modèle Falcon) et Holden (avec le modèle Commodore), les deux marques ayant chacune leurs fervents supporters. La tension entre les deux camps atteint son paroxysme lors de l'épreuve des 1 000 km de Bathurst, la course la plus prestigieuse de la saison sur le Mount Panorama Circuit.

Ian Geoghegan, Dick Jonhson et Mark Skaife détiennent ex-aequo le record de titres de champion, avec cinq succès chacun.
