Usuard est un moine bénédictin de Saint-Germain-des-Prés (✝875), et lettré de la renaissance carolingienne.
Usuard est l'auteur d'un martyrologe adressé à Charles le Chauve. La dédicace semble précéder de peu la mort de l'auteur. Ouvrage dont est issu le martyrologe de Rome, le martyrologe d'Usuard connaît un succès constant tout au long du Moyen Âge, ce dont témoignent les nombreux manuscrits retrouvés[1]. Ce martyrologe reprend des éléments du martyrologe d'Adon de Vienne, et d'une version lyonnaise augmentée de celui de Bède, attribuée à l'archidiacre Florus de Lyon.

Ces éditions ont été faites à partir du manuscrit dit "original" (ms. Paris, B.N. lat. 13745), considéré comme le plus fiable, qu'il soit ou non autographe.
