The Dictators est un groupe rock formé en 1973 à New-York.
Ils clamaient que depuis les Stooges le rock était mort. Ils ont notamment fait une reprise de Search and Destroy. Les membres du groupe avaient entre quinze et vingt-cinq ans. C'est aussi un des groupe considéré comme étant un groupe de proto-punk et ayant influencé les premiers groupe punks.
