Ross the Boss (né le 3 janvier 1954) de son vrai nom Ross Friedman fut le guitariste original du groupe de Heavy Metal, Manowar, depuis la formation du groupe en 1980 jusqu'en 1988.
Il était le guitariste du groupe Shakin' Street qui était en première partie de Black Sabbath lorsqu'il a remarqué le technicien des basses du groupe, Joey DeMaio[1]. Ils ont décidé de monter un groupe ensemble qui devint rapidement Manowar.
Ross the Boss à également œuvré en tant que guitariste dans le groupe de proto-punk The Dictators.
