The Co-operators est une coopérative d'assurances canadienne détenue par 40 membres. C'est l'un des plus grands assureurs canadiens, offrant des produits d'assurance pour l'automobile, la maison, la vie, la ferme, les voyages et les affaires, ainsi que des produits d'investissements. Elle a été fondée en 1945 par des fermiers de la Saskatchewan[1].
Histoire
En 1945, des fermiers de la Saskatchewan spécialisés dans la culture du blé décidèrent de regrouper leurs avoirs pour lancer une coopérative d'assurances. Durant ces premières années, plusieurs fermiers occupaient deux postes : travailler pour le compte de la Saskatchewan Wheat Pool (littéralement, « Regroupement du blé de la Saskatchewan ») et vendre de l'assurance-vie.
