Sénat du Texas
Le Sénat du Texas (en anglais : Texas Senate) est la chambre haute du corps législatif du Texas. Il se compose de 31 sénateurs représentant chacun un district de 672 000 habitants. Il n'y a pas de limite de mandat pour les sénateurs. Ils se réunissent au Capitole d'état du Texas dans la capitale Austin.
Le Lieutenant-gouverneur du Texas est aussi le Président du Sénat. Ce poste est occupé par le républicain David Dewhurst. Le President Pro Tempore est le républicain Robert L. Duncan, élu dans le 28ème district (Lubbock). Lors de la session 2009-2011, le sénat est dominé par 19 républicains face à 12 démocrates.
