Mozilla Sunbird
Mozilla Sunbird est la version indépendante de Mozilla Calendar (calendrier de Mozilla), développé par la Fondation Mozilla. Porté sous Windows, GNU/Linux et Mac OS X, il utilise la technologie XUL.
Littéralement « Oiseau du soleil », son développement est beaucoup plus lent que celui de Firefox ou de Thunderbird.
Sunbird fait partie avec l’extension Lightning du projet Calendar de Mozilla, ces deux produits partageant les mêmes composants de base et protocoles[1].
À la différence de Lightning, qui est une extension pour le logiciel de messagerie Thunderbird, Sunbird est une application à part entière qui ne nécessite pas l’installation préalable d’autres logiciels.
