Saint-Ulric
Saint-Ulric est une municipalité dans la municipalité régionale de comté de Matane au Québec (Canada), située dans la région administrative du Bas-Saint-Laurent et dans la région touristique de la Gaspésie. Elle est nommée en l'honneur de Ulric-Joseph Tessier, un juge qui donna un terrain pour construire la première église du village.
Historique
C'est en 1844 que les premiers colons arrivèrent sur ce territoire. Le premier nom de cette colonie fut Rivière blanche car une rivière traversait le village. Lorsque, en 1856, la première chapelle fut construite, la paroisse prit le nom de St-Ulric. Le 17 fevrier 1869, la paroisse devint canonique et le 1er juin de la même année, St-Ulric devint un village officielle du Quebec.Le seul moyen de communication vers l'extérieur étais la grève ou par les rivères et le fleuve jusqu'en 1850 où le chemin royal traversa le village. En 1921, St-Ulric se divisera en 2 partie soit, le village et la paroisse. Il faudra attendre jusqu'à l'an 2000 pour que les 2 partie se reunissent pour redevenir un seul et même village.
