Le Southern Cameroons est un ancien territoire sous mandat britannique en Afrique de l'Ouest. Depuis 1961, le Southern Cameroons constitue les provinces du Nord-Ouest et du Sud-Ouest de la république du Cameroun[1].
Depuis 1994, des groupes de pression dans le territoire du Southern Cameroons tentent d'obtenir l'indépendance du territoire et de faire sécession du Cameroun. En décembre 1999, la République d'Ambazonie a été déclarée par le Southern Cameroons Peoples Organisation (SCAPO).
