Shlomo Goren (1917-1994) était un rabbin sioniste-religieux d'Israël qui fonda et dirigea le rabbinat de l'armée israélienne puis devint le troisième grand-rabbin d'Israël ashkénaze.

Le nom de famille du rabbin Goren était originellement Gorenchik. Il est né à Zambrów en Pologne et émigra avec sa famille en Palestine mandataire en 1925. Il servit au sein de Tsahal durant trois années et écrivit plusieurs livres à succès sur la halakha. Il devint grand-rabbin de Tel Aviv en 1968 puis grand-rabbin d'Israël en 1973, poste qu'il conserva jusqu' en 1983.

En 1973, après la victoire israélienne lors de la Guerre du Kippour, il déclare "Nous avons regardé la mort en face, et la mort a baissé les yeux".
