Robert Charles Benchley (né le 15 septembre 1889 à Worcester, Massachusetts et décédé le 21 novembre 1945) à New York (New York) était un humoriste, scénariste et acteur américain.

Il a écrit de nombreux essais et articles humoristiques pour Vanity Fair et The New Yorker.

Son petit-fils l'écrivain Peter Benchley fut notamment l'auteur du roman Les Dents de la mer.
