La Prosopography of the Later Roman Empire (PLRE, soit prosopographie de l'Empire romain tardif) est un grand ensemble de trois volumes regroupant les notices biographiques de toutes les personnes ayant vécu dans le monde romain de l'Antiquité tardive, entre 260 et 641, connues par les inscriptions, les textes littéraires ou parfois des sources plus incertaines (par exemple les personnages non confirmés de l’Histoire Auguste), avec les références et les témoignages. Il est devenu un outil de travail indispensable pour tous les chercheurs de cette période.
Les volumes furent édités par la Cambridge University Press et sont rédigés par de très nombreux auteurs sous la direction de Arnold Hugh Martin Jones, John Martindale et John Morris :
- Le volume 1, publié le 2 mars 1971, couvre la période de 260 à 395 (1176 pages) ;
- Le volume 2, publié le 9 octobre 1980, couvre la période de 395 à 527 (1355 pages) ;
- Le volume 3, publié le 15 octobre 1992, couvre la période de 527 à 641 (1626 pages en deux tomes) ;
