Rattaché à l'enseigne de distribution de matériaux du groupe Poliet depuis 1979, Point.P a été intégré au groupe Saint-Gobain depuis le 01/07/1996.

Le Groupe Point.P est rattaché à la branche "Distribution Bâtiment" de Saint-Gobain. Cette Branche regroupe également les enseignes Jewson et Graham au Royaume-Uni, Raab Karcher en Allemagne, aux Pays-Bas, en Hongrie, République Tchèque et Pologne, Lapeyre en France et la Plateforme du Bâtiment.

Le groupe Point P a fermé plusieurs agences[réf. nécessaire] mais a néanmoins conservé tous les emplois .
L'entreprise est le sponsor officiel de la coupe de la ligue de football et place son logo sur tous les maillots de la compétition.
