Petronas Mamikonian

Petronas Mamikonian (né vers 815, mort le 11 novembre 865) (grec : Πετρωνᾶς) est un général byzantin, frère de Théodora et de Bardas Mamikonian, oncle du basileus Michel III.

Il obtient à Poson, sur le fleuve Halys, à la frontière des thèmes de Paphlagonie et des Arméniaques le 3 septembre 863 une victoire décisive contre les Sarrasins d’ Omar al-Aqta  (en), émir de Mélitène qui s’étaient avancés jusqu’à la côte méridionale de la mer Noire (Amisos). Grâce à cette victoire, le péril musulman est repoussé pour près de deux siècles.
