Penrith Castle a été construit entre 1399 et 1470 comme une défense contre les raids écossais. Il a été construit par William Strickland qui deviendra évêque de Carlisle et archevêque de Canterbury. Le château est situé au sud de Penrith, en Cumbrie, dans le nord-ouest de l'Angleterre.
Le château est entretenu par la fondation English Heritage.
