Opération Dernière Chance
L'Opération Dernière Chance, lancée en juillet 2002 par le Centre Simon Wiesenthal et la Fondation Targum Shlishi dans huit pays d'Europe (Allemagne, Autriche, Pologne, Roumanie, Hongrie, Croatie, Lituanie, Lettonie et Estonie) vise à retrouver et juger d'ex-nazis actuellement en fuite. Nombre d'entre eux vont sur les dernières années de leur vie, d'où le nom donné à l'opération. Alois Brunner (le bras droit d'Adolf Eichmann) et Aribert Heim, soupçonné en novembre 2005 de s'être caché en Espagne pendant près de 20 années avec l'appui du réseau ODESSA, figurent sur la liste, aux côtés notamment de Milivoj Ašner, ex-officier de la police croate qui aurait envoyé plusieurs centaines de Juifs vers les camps d'extermination, et d'Erna Wallisch, une garde chargée d'escorter les prisonniers jusqu'aux chambres à gaz de Majdanek.
