Olaf Breuning, artiste suisse
Né en 1970 à Schaffhouse, vit et travaille à New York et à Zurich
Olaf Breuning réalise des installations, des films et des photographies. Il travaille sur l'esthétique des clips vidéos, de la culture pop, de l'univers des films de série "Z" (Olaf Breuning cite autant Doug Aitken et les premières pièces de Matthew Barney, que les cinéastes John Carpenter ou John Waters). Ses images jouent avec la perception saturée d'informations visuelles du spectateur aujourd'hui. Breuning construit donc son univers esthétique autour de l’hybridation et l’indétermination, brouillant toutes sortes de limites et de frontières entre les genres et les sexes, entre le réel et la fiction.
Il a participé au projet Broadcast posters #4 sorti en avril 2009 et est également apparu dans le documentaire "The Future of Art" (2010) par Erik Niedling et Ingo Niermann.
Son site Internet personnel déjoue ironiquement les attentes d'interactivité des visiteurs.
