Novichok (du russe новичок: "nouveau venu") est une série de gaz innervants qui ont été développés par l'Union Soviétique dans les années 1970 et 1980[1] et supposé être les gaz innervants les plus mortels jamais fabriqués, certaines variantes étant présumées être cinq à huit fois plus puissantes que le gaz VX[2].
Ces gaz appartiennent à la quatrième génération d'armes chimiques désignée comme partie du programme soviétique "Foliant"[1]. Initialement appelé K-84 et plus tard renommé A-230, la famille Novichok comprend plus d'une centaine de gaz[1]. D'un point de vue militaire, le plus prometteur de ces gaz était A-232 (Novichok-5)[1].
