La National Cartoonists Society (Organisation nationale des auteurs de bande dessinée) est une organisation américaine d'auteurs de bande dessinée professionnels fondée en 1946. Elle décerne chaque année des prix, dont le Reuben Award équivalent américain du Grand Prix de la Ville d'Angoulême, nommé d'après Rube Goldberg, premier président de la NCS.
Reuben Awards
Ce prix est le plus important de ceux décernés par la National Cartoonists Society. Il couronne un grand artiste. La première femme à l'obtenir est Lynn Johstonen 1985 pour For Better or For Worse. Depuis la fin des années 1990, il n'est plus possible d'obtenir ce prix plusieurs années de suite. Ont reçu ce prix :
