Cathy Lee Guisewite, née le 5 septembre 1950 à Dayton (Ohio), est une dessinatrice américaine qui est à l'origine de la bande dessinée Cathy, créée en 1976.
Née à Dayton, dans l'État de l'Ohio, Cathy Guisewite grandit à Midland, dans le Michigan où elle suivit des études à l'Université du Michigan, située dans la ville d'Ann Arbor. Elle eut son baccalauréat universitaire en anglais, en 1972. Elle obtint également sept titres honorifiques durant ses études.
En 1987, elle reçoit un Emmy Award pour le meilleur programme animé pour Cathy, adapté de la bande dessinée du même nom, diffusé sur la chaîne américaine CBS. Plus tard, en 1993, elle reçoit un Reuben Award en tant que meilleure dessinatrice de bandes dessinées de l'année. Cathy Guisewite est également une invitée récurrente du talk-show The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson.
Cathy Guisewite est mariée au scénariste Chris Wilkinson et a une fille nommée Ivy, adoptée en 1992. Elle réside actuellement à Los Angeles.
