Barney Google (en anglais Barney Google and Snuffy Smith) est une bande dessinée américaine créée par le dessinateur Billy DeBeck.
Depuis ses débuts sur 17 Juin 1919, elle a gagnée un lectorat international énorme, figurant dans 900 journaux dans 21 pays. Le succès de la bande dessinée ont conduit à son adaptation au cinéma, en série d'animation, en chanson populaire et à la télévision. Elle a ajoutée plusieurs termes et expressions de la langue anglaise et inspiré la chanson Barney Google avec des paroles de Billy Rose.
Charles Monroe Schulz, le « papa » du fameux comic-strip Peanuts (Charlie Brown, Snopy), était surnommé « Sparky » par son oncle, en hommage à « Sparkplug », le célèbre cheval de Barney Google.
